Those are the cutest footies I've ever seen and the colour is just fabulous! I need a pattern and some yarn....siigh...like thats gonna happen....but kudos to ya for the inspiring footies!! I like making short socks too, especially when it's just a regular stockinette pattern. The short row heel was off by a stitch? hmmmm. I don't get what the fuss about the kitchener stitch is either. I sometimes get distracted and lose my way but other then that it's ok. And yes, go for a toe up sock on the loop!! The footies look great! About the ladders, I'm not sure if they go away, but they sure are frustrating. I've had some success with really tightening the second stitch after moving to the next dpn. Pulling on the second stitch seems to tighten up the first one as well and helps diminish the laddering. HTH Jes The socks look awesome. Very cute.
