First of all, some housekeeping stuff:
This past weekend I discovered a big problem with my Wordpress blogs. All my previously Blogger-uploaded pictures were missing! Which was strange because I thought when I imported all my Blogger posts over here, everything transferred seamlessly and smoothly, comments, posts, pictures, everything. Well guess what. If you’ve transferred your blog from Blogger to Wordpress, you might have encountered this very same situation. In a nutshell, Blogger is denying access to all the image files hosted on their site if the referrer is not Blogger (unless you have a Blogger cookie). At first, this confused me, because I can see all my pictures just fine, (because I have the cookie) but no one else could see my pictures. So this leads us to the inevitable… the need to transfer ALL your old image files from Blogger over to your new server. Sounds like a headache, I know. Until I found this magic little plugin. So as of now, all the pictures on this site, my Gallery site, and my non-crafting blog should be working. If you see any broken links, please, PLEASE, let me know. I would appreciated so much. Thanks!
Alright. Now back to our regular programming. More cooking therapy (which makes a very happy Hubby at dinner)! Excuse the yellowish pictures, they were taken in the evening when the sun went down ~
Steamed Spareribs in Black Bean Sauce:
Tomato and Egg Stirfry - I grew up with this simple but homey Chinese dish. Topped over hot white rice, it’s such a yummy comfort food!
(Edited to add recipe here; for additional details, leave a comment and I’ll email you back.)
And lastly, I had a frogging therapy session. It was difficult at first, but I’m glad I did it. Here are my Shimmer and Sizzle WIPs:
Frogged!
Shimmer was my oldest WIP (two and a half years). I was a 5-month knitting newbie when I attempted it (and got stuck with it). It was my first time with dpn’s (with successful sleeves!), and my first time doing raglan decreases with a lace pattern. I also enjoyed the Lion Brand Glitterspun yarn too - I love the pretty glittery black. Now, what to do with this yarn? Hmm……
Sizzle was a disappointment because I was so excited about it. A very easy knit, I was practically finished with it in 2 weeks… until I tried it on. This WIP was the final straw, and it signalled to me that I really need to learn about my own body measurements, and how to alter knit patterns accordingly. I haven’t completely given up on Sizzle however, as I plan to restart it again, when I figure the whole thing out to my own measurements.

oh! the froggage! how liberating! heehee. :) kudos to you! is it helping the slump? btw, yes, I do blog at work. I used to knit at work too, but I don’t have time for that (and it doesn’t look as productive as sitting here typing) anymore. also, I got the license plate frame at knitty’s cafepress store. :) btw, this post is making me hungry.

I hope that the frogging was cathartic. I predict that your knitting mojo is about to return.

Yellow or not, the food looks great!
Nice going with the frogging, hope to see some completed FOs soon. =)
I’m still in drooling mode over the gorgeous yarn you sent to me. Definitely some footies are going to be cast on when I’m done ;)

Love spare ribs and you know what, nothing beats simple home cooked food. Yum, yum, yum.
I’m almost finished with Sizzle and I’m keeping my fingers crossed about the fit!! Hope you feel much better after the frogging.

That tomato and egg stir fry is one of my favourite homemade dishes too! Very appetizing.
What a bummer with the frogging! But sometimes you just need to do what’s got to be done. :)

I won’t even talk about the food, I’m drooling as I type.
I tried Shimmer last year. Twice. And both times the lace pattern got out of whack. I don’t even think I got as far as you did in that picture before it just all fell to pieces… I’ll be saving the sleeves for armwarmers.
I’m just about finished with Sizzle myself. The neck drop is non existent in mine. It does fit and it’s one of the first times I’ve knit something where the sides and armholes fit just the way I like them to. But it’s a bit short and I’m gonna have to fix that. I did a few pattern mods(no bust shaping, for starters), and it came out ok. I know you can do it too.

It is great to frog the old one and knit a new one for you can wear it. Instead of just put the old one aside in the wardrobe.

I’m hungry!!! :D Frogging sucks sometimes, but it can be quite a relieve once done. I’m about to do the same with some of mine. I can definitely sympathize. On the other hand, now u get to use the yarns for something else u r really eyeing. :)

Yey Ruth!! I’m so glad you went ahead and frogged the old WIPs that will never get completed - I think they must be bad for your Feng Shui :)
Now you have all this new glittery yarn to play with, and I’m waiting to see what you’ll knit next!
That tomatoes and egg stir-fry looks really good, too.. can I be the second one to ask you to post the recipe? :)

Now I have to ask: is Wordpress way easier to maintain than Blogger?
The ribs look delicious!
