Your machine review is good news. I need a new machine and am not in a position to plunk down $300 for one. I could craiglist or freecyle one but I’m afraid of getting a bum steer. I once got a full sized machine for about that price from Target and it didn’t even work! I was a little afraid of trying one such as yours but if yours works, I guess mine would too. Do you think it would do a steek well? that’s really all I’d want it for, other than sewing bag linings and such.

The embroidery is pretty! I used to do hoop embroidery years ago. It’s fun and not really hard but see, I kinda went overboard and wanted to embroider EVERYTHING I saw. hehe.. so I had to stop.

I actually take my knitting EVERYWHERE. I hate sitting around with noting to do, I’ve even knit in a bar! Ha ha!

I love the embroidery. It was the first needle work I learned to do. My grandmother taught me because my mom hated that sort of thing. She said she would teach me if I would promise never to do it on Sunday. Forget working in public, she meant even at home. Her parents had been very strict about not working on the Sabbath, and she had gotten in trouble for doing her embroidery then. Boy have ideas about being naughty have changed!

I have 2 sewing machines (my grandmother’s old one, which comes in a table that we use in our hallway; and a portable little one) and an overlocker and I still can’t sew using a machine! The only successes I’ve had are hand-sewn projects. (sigh)

But if I held out hope for real success, I’d definitely buy a Hello Kitty machine like yours. So cute!
