Footies

Can’t believe 2007 is finally here. It’s been relatively cold here lately, so I figured I’ll start off the new year with warm feet!

Like many, I enjoyed the holidays with friends and family (and way too much food). Rang in the new year at a friend’s place with champagne, more food, and karaoke. End result from all the festivities = a cold. It’s been brewing for a week, and now I’m coughing and stuffed up and now, oh great. My monthly visitor is here too. Wonderful.

That’s OK. Those things will not damper the start of 2007. Like many, I’ve been thinking about what sort of goals and resolutions for the new year. I have some personal ones, and some crafting ones. And because this blog is of a crafting nature, I’ll share with you the latter:

Sewing: Setting up my sewing space, organizing all my yarn and other crafting junk. Do a couple sewing patterns (more bags), do some patchwork, and see where it leads (quilting?).

    Knitting:
    1) More socks. You heard me. I’ve gotten sucked in. Maybe knee-highs? Magic Loop?
    2) Learning continental. I remember last year mentioning that I wanted to do this. My tendinitis is not improving, and I think it’s always helpful to know another way to knit. Keeps things interesting, keeps me feeling challenged with new skills.
    3) Finishing up some of those WIPs? Maybe… we’ll see. =)

That’s it for now. I figured I’d keep it light, so as to not overwelm or jinx myself. Can’t wait! =)

    Those footies are SOOO cute!

Awesome footies Ruth! The ones with the pompoms used to be soooo popular when I was in junior high eons ago!

Since you got sucked into the world of sock knitting, you should join my new webring for sock knitters/crocheters!! You don’t have to knit a certain amount or a certain pattern or anything. It’s just a ring to join sock knitters together. The join button is on my sidebar under “rings”, and the name of it is One Sock Two Socks. Would love to have you join. All ar welcome so long as they are sock knitters/crocheters new or experienced.

    Your footies are darling.

Knee highs huh? You should see the pattern in the new book Naughty Needles. They have a knee high pattern to die for.

I can’t believe you knit those ankle socks. So cute. I too want to learn to knit continental in 2007. I also want to learn to crochet and sew more often. I hope the new year has been good to you so far. Hau’oli makahiki hou! (Happy New Year)

Such pretty socks! hope you feel better very soon!

COOOL!! I have to go against the flow and say I LOVE those bright pink socks (but I have to admit the ankles socks are great too :P )

Socks are my next project, after I make another hat and finally finish the scarf I’ve been working on forEVER. Wish me luck! :)

Wonderful as usual!! Love your stuff. The pink is so refreshing. I’m still swimming my way through the other pair of footies.

Cheering you on with your resolutions!!

Where on God’s green earth did you find the pattern for the anklets with the pom pom? They are so cute! My daughter wants knee-hi socks with pom poms dangling from an eyelet cuff, but I think I need to make these for me! I knit continental and it does seem to actually help with my carpal tunnel and arthritis. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Those footies are so darn cute!!!

ohhh I love those cable socks!!
    SOo yummy!

Hi Ruth, Happy New Year! Thanks for admiring the scarves I just finished up. Hey, your cable footies are awesome! Love the color, too! I’m going to check out the pattern……I need to make some socks before I forget how to! Take care.

Thomas and I say “Wow”! Actually Thomas said, ” oh wow, how did she sew those socks?!”. Men…they’ll never understand.

Ooo, those socks are beautiful. Hooray for knitting Ruths! We should start an exclusive club.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. : )

I loooove the cabled socks! That color is awesome.

I hope you feel better soon!

Your socks are beautiful, Ruth. I’m sorry you’ve been sick. Do you feel any better today?

Your knitting is so pretty! good for you, having finished projects. Hope your cold clears up fast….won’t it be great when a cure or a med is developed that will do away with headcolds…any kind of colds! Hope all the things on your wish-list for 2007 come true…I’ve a feeling they will =).

I’m so glad to have seen someone do the cabled footies! I’ve been eyeballing those in the one skein book for months! I’m also glad that you didn’t use the lorna’s laces. I wasn’t sure what I could use instead so now I just might look into some red heart myself! oh yeah..followed your link here from get stitchy! :)
