My New Muse

I’m back from vacation, and this week has been a flurry of busyness and long to-do lists (husband’s 30th birthday today, party tommorrow, lots of overnight out-of-town guests). But I managed to get some vacation pictures up.

But my main reason for posting today is something that came in the mail yesterday. I’ve been wanting to teach myself to use one of these for the longest time, and now I have one of my very own!! I can’t wait to get started on this.

Also, an update on my Kerchief (not a great shot, sorry). So far I’m done with the yarn-over increases (thank you Joy and Gail for your help!):

My arms/shoulder are still hurting a bit, so I’m going to try to take it slow and lots of breaks now and then (and less computer use too). Thank you for all the kind thoughts and well wishes!

Do you mean the sewing machine? I can’t see the picture but I guess that’s it. :)
Happy Birthday to your husband and have a wonderful time with the party!

Lovely vacation pics. Y’all make a cute couple.

I hope you get to feeling better son. Happy birthday Ruth’s hubby!

ah so the machine has arrived! :D Happy fun with sewing! Rest ur arms and shoulder well yea. Happy Birthday to ur hubby. :)

Wow, your very own sewing machine. When I get the time, I too would love to learn to use one. Let me know how easy/hard it is to teach yourself.

Have a great party, with birthday wishes to your husband.

Have fun with the sewing machine. I want one of those too. And your scarf is looking great!

Your scarf is just beautiful! You are probably going to have so much fun sewing. I’ve just come up from my craft room where I was looking for my knitting and reading the directions for sewing a summer purse. My pattern looks so easy and I’ve got the lovliest material. My daughter sewed me 2 purses for Mother’s Day and I use them constantly during the week-days. The smaller of the two has become a home for my take-along embroidery project. Happy Birthday Wishs to your husband!

I have the same exact sewing machine! Hope yours gets more use ;-)

Love your vacation pictures, thanks for sharing. I’ve been to many of the same places so your photos made me a little nostalgic. The flower photos are great!

HAve a great time taking up sewing… you may even have to put knitting aside a bit, as it is every bit as compelling. I just love the intricate border on your kerchief.

Be careful with that sewing machine. I have that one, and it’s not very heavy duty. It didn’t even last one semester of sewing class before the motor went out on it, and all I was sewing was a blouse! So, be very nice to that machine.

So we’ll be seeing some sewing projects in the works soon?

yes! hoping to play around with my sewing machine one of these days - and i’ll be posting my progress, once i get started of course. =)
