I’ve recently been practicing a bit on my jewelry/beading skills. They aren’t much right now, but repetition helps alot. So I bought myself a whole big spool of wire at my local hardware store, and got busy doing things over and over and over again.
Making eye pins/loops:
Wrapped loops:
Spirals:
Last weekend I took a beading class with an SnB friend, Lacy, and here’s what I made (1 pair of earrings, 2 bracelets - 1 with a clasp and 1 elastic):
And of course, Lacy and I practiced our skills on some stitch markers for herself. All I did was help make the loops at the top. Aren’t they purty? (click on a thumbnail for a closeup)=)

Unrelated, but I was tagged by Ayelet a week ago with the Interview Meme. I thought it was fun…. here you go!
1. If you could master any craft in the world, which would it be?
At the moment, jewelry making (see above). =)
2. Has your Christian life ever affected your crafty life, or vice-versa?
Hmm, not really. The two don’t really intersect all that much… although I did attempt to start up a knitting group/ministry at my local church. I discontinued it after awhile because I was just too busy to keep up with it (among my other projects).
3. Black and white, or colour?
Color!
4. If you could have $1000 to spend in ANY site on the internet, which one would it be?
Oh goodness, that’s a hard one. It’s a toss-up between Yarnmarket.com and Amazon.
5. You’ve been blogging since 2002. Post links to your 3 favourite blog entries.
Wow, that’s a hard one. I had to sort through ALL my entries I’ve ever made! It was hard to pick from any on this crafting site (too many to choose from!!), so I chose ones from my personal site, for varying reasons (listed below):
Post Accountability Musings (Nov 9th, 2002) - I made some profound discoveries about myself and my relationship with God, and was starting some baby steps towards some inner healing. A slice of what was going on at that time in my life.
A Christmas Blessing (Jan 9th, 2006) - This was special because it has a picture of myself with my brother and my sister, taken December 24th, 2005. I hadn’t seen my sister in a little over 4 years (due to family drama/conflict), and it was heart-wrenching on my end. My younger brother surprised us both by planning a surprise meeting for both of us, and that made it really special, so Hubby snapped a picture of us right then and there.
Significance (Oct 3rd, 2006) - A very frank look at my soul struggles, and the blessings that Hubby has brought into my life. I’m still struggling a bit with these things, but I’m also still reaping the blessings that God has given me through Hubby (and other individuals/situations that come across my way).

Yay! Stitch markers made the blog! :) I have so caught the beading bug now…it’s scary. I conned my in-laws into stopping at JoAnn’s yesterday and got two big fistfuls of stone beads for $35. Now I’m on to tools…
