Yep, I’m headed out of the country again. It seems like at least once a year, we have a trip that takes us out of the country, and we are crossing at least an ocean or so. We’ll be in Kenya for awhile, and then London for some R&R. Details here.
I’m excited and nervous. We’re procrastinators by nature, so of course, we’re flying out on Wednesday and I’m just beginning to start packing today. =) Also, I’ve been making little gifts, in preparation to thank our Kenyan translators.
My bead board:
A Swarovski crystal and silver bracelet (with a magnet clasp):
A hemp bracelet with colored beads (no one told me how stinky hemp is!!! phew!!!):
The colors of the crystals/beads aren’t random or coincidental. They each have a specific meaning/purpose. I’ve wrapped the bracelets in little gift bags and putting them in my luggage.
I’ve already got a knitting project designated for this trip (see shrug project here). With travel time spanning over a period of 3-4 days, I am thinking of bringing a book as well. Wish us safety and health, and we hope to return with lots of pictures and stories to share!

I send you my best wishes for safety and health. And Enjoy your trips!!
The bracelets are pretty!

your gifts are so beautiful!
have fun and do good work in Kenya! i’m totally jealous of your london trip! good work on sticking to one project on your trip! I always think it’s pointless to bring so many when i barely work on one project on trips. heehehe.
be safe and come home soon!

Hey, your hemp bracelets turned out cute! I don’t think that hemp is stinky, I kinda like the smell. Maybe you got a stinky bunch?

Lovely bracelets. I’m sure they will be thankful for them. Mission trips are so exciting — it’s been a year since my last one and I’m looking forward to the next! I hope you have a safe trip.

Your bracelets look great! I’m going overseas too – to South Korea! I’m going over for a year (unless I like it and want to stay another year) to teach English as a second language. I’ll still be blogging, though it might not be for a little while until I get internet hooked up in my apartment…hopefully it won’t take that long. I don’t want to go into withdrawl, LOL!
Hope you have a great trip!

Your jewelry is lovely….and I wish you all good things, and God’s blessings. I’ll have a peek at your knitting project now. I’m still working on the front of my summer sweater.
