Happy New Year!

As everyone is doing knitting resolutions - mine is to purely not drown from my growing number of WIPs. It’s starting to get overwelming!! And these are mostly projects for other people! So knitting becomes stressful and not as enjoyable as it once was. And I miss knitting purely for the sake of learning and experiencing a challenge for myself. So in order to keep things simple (so as to not stress myself out anymore), only two things:

    1) Managing my WIPs to a minimum (no more than 3)
    2) Knitting projects more for MYSELF.

Among other things, I have felt the need to change up this blog. I’m really tired of this layout I’m in the midst of deciding what I want for a new template. I’m still unwilling to pay for blog services (yes, I’ve briefly thought about jumping ship like everyone else and joining Typepad but decided against it for various reasons). Which means I have to manually change up my layout, which is ok with me, if it’s not alot of work. I’m just scared that all my blogger tags will disappear and I’ll lose all my posts! And a new template means I have to manually re-insert all my links and sidebar stuff. Just thinking about it makes me a tad stressed. =P

And speaking of changing up this blog, I’ve done a little tinkering here and there. My FO thumbnails on the sidebar are now hosted by Flickr (rather than Photobucket) so they look alot more neater. I’ve also started a gallery of my FO’s - which I’m still playing around with, but I’ll probably keep because I need some sort of organizational system to display it all. It’s not public yet, but I’m putting up a link here in case you want to take a peek at it (and give me feedback). =)

P.S. The photo above is our beloved Clancy the Bear (he’s practically part of our family), who happens to wear a knitted sweater (that I did not make). But that’s ok - he’s adorable anyways. =)

Happy New Year! Blessings to you and your family. =)

Good luck on keeping your resolutions. I just posted mine as well:)

I feel the same way about changing up my blog. I’ve even started fussing around on photoshop. Good luck (although ofcourse you don’t need it:o)

I can relate to the feeling of being stressed by having too many WIPs. It’s how I feel right now and I only have 3 projects on the needles. You knit a LOT for other people (and their babies!) so I think it’s GREAT that you are planning to knit more for yourself this year. As for changing the look of your blog – I’m not expert but whenever I experimented with the template I always saved a copy first! Your gallery looks good.

Both are great resolutions, especially the one about knitting for yourself. You deserve something special. Your FO link looks great.

clancy’s wearing something you didn’t make?? Is it from the bunny? (what’s his name?)

yep - the sweater came from the bunny. the bunny has been naked all week. it fits clancy really well and looks better on him anyways (although i’m sure he’s uncomfortably warm and itchy with a sweater like that over his fur).

open a second blogger account and do all your testing over there
once you know it is all working proer, then bring it over to your live blogspot account =)

Thanks for admiring my CandyCane hats. I love the new look of your blog!! I, too, refuse to pay for a blog. I use photosite.com for organizing my photos; it is free up to 150 photos. I like it because you can really customize the look of the background pages.

    Clancy is too adorable!

Knit for yourself and don’t feel selfish! I know people who proudly say that they have never knit a thing for themselves. At first I feel guilty because I love to knit for myself - after all how many nonknitters really appreciate the effort? Good luck on the blog. When I changed my template, I copied the html code for all the sidebar items and pasted it on a word document; then when I was ready to reinsert it in the new template I just had to copy and past.

rabbit’s naked?! is be being unloved? :(
