I tried making a few pairs of my own a year ago. I need to dig them out. But I got more interested in beads for making my own stitch and row markers. Once I took some crystals and made two pairs of earrings, a really simple pair, just long eyepins with the crystals, and then a fancier pair - necklace chain and crystals placed at different lengths. The more complicated ones are certainly nice (I just wore them tonight), but the simpler ones (which are missing right now *pout*), actually turned out to be my all time favorite earrings! I was looking at the dowel you hung your earrings on and thinking "I should get a nice dowel like that to display my earrings on for markets..." and then it hit me... It's a knitting needle! Isn't it? LOL! Lovely!
