A Second Attempt

First of all, I have to apologize for the quality of the pictures in this post. Tonight we’re headed to the bay area, and tommorrow we’re flying to China for vacation (a 3-city tour) – and as of now, even the camera is packed. So you’re going to have to deal with grainy, dull photos from my Palm. =)

Every trip I go on, I absolutely have to bring a knitting project. This time, I have been scratching my head, trying to figure out what to bring. Something from my pool of WIPs?

My WIPs stats, as of today:

    - A lace mohair shawl

    - Backyard Leaves scarf

    - A sweater

    - 3 knitted/crocheted handbags, waiting for either a lining, or to be seamed

None of these are terribly appealing for travel; I would like a break from charts, a sweater would be MUCH too hot for summer weather in China, and the handbag finishings isn’t really travel-friendly. So, just for this trip, guess what I have casted on for:

I know, I know, I swore off socks not too long ago, based on a disasterous first experience. But I knew it was only a matter of time that all the sock yarn out there, in all their colorful goodness, would entice me back to give them another chance. So… [taking a deep breath]… here I am. =)

So we’re all packed up and ready to go…
Wish me luck with those socks! (I may need it)

Hey, have fun and be safe. I just finished putting up the tutorial on how to sew that pillow. I still have yet to knit a pair of socks. I think I’ll knit vicariously through you instead

Can’t wait to hear about your travels when you return.

Socks are great and wonderful to knit and especially good for knitting on the go. I am every confidence that a knitter that can tackle mohair lace can knit socks!

    Have a wonderful time!!

I found your blog through the Asia Knit Ring. Wow, I love all the handbags you’ve made, and all your knitting and sewing projects are great!

Hi Ruth! Hope you’re having a great time in China. I can’t wait to hear how everything was!
