Because of the large needle size, this was an incredibly fast knit. Top down, traditional heel, kitchener toes. Cables give it a rich texture. Unfortunately, #8 dpn’s ended up being terribly fiddly for me, and convinced me to try out Magic Loop instead.

Yarn
A lovely and soft worsted weight yarn, in many rich colors. I’m not ashamed to go for Red Heart yarn (or anything from Coats and Clark) - not a yarn snob here at all. Besides the softness and the color selection, the option of machine washable won me over. Also, because this is a worsted yarn, done in size 8’s, this is not the type of sock to fit in with a shoe (too thick). I’d say it’s more like a slipper sock, one that you can freely wear around the house just to keep your feet cozy and warm.
