Travel Prep

If I hadn’t mentioned earlier, we are headed to Kenya in a couple days. We’ll be there for a week-long project (doing a free medical camp), and then we’re off to London for a couple days for some R&R. We’re madly packing right now, cleaning house, and Wayne is reading up on tropical diseases and getting materials ready.

If you’ve committed to financially and/or prayerfully supporting us, by now you should have received a little prayer calendar in the mail, as well as an email on our personal updates and requests. If you missed any of that information, you’re in luck, I’m typing out right here on my blog. =)

I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It’s projects/trips like this that humble me and shake me back to what life is really about. This trip is not a sponsor-paid vacation; it’s real work. We’ve been following the news stories on the Korean Christian medical team in Afghanistan, being held hostage by the Taliban. The pastor was the first to be killed, and as of today, a second man has been killed. I know that Kenya is a million times safer, but it’s sobering to know that fellow workers out there need just as much prayer. This is real, serious, faith-shaking, work.

We’ll do our best to document everything through pictures and videos. We don’t know if we’ll have internet access while we’re away, but if we get lucky, we’ll do our best to send email updates to our supporters. When we return, we’ll be sharing lots of stories. Will keep you updated. Can’t wait! =)

Keep us in your thoughts/prayers!
